YARD/CRAFT SALE

We are having a yard/craft sale on Dec. 11 at 7417 Alpine Ridge. It will be from 7:00am - 2:00pm. We'll have lots of our crafts there for sale on the spot. Hope to see all of you there!

It's been a while

and I'm very sorry for the long delay I'm not really much of a blogger, that's my daughter's specialty, but since she's gone back to work she doesn't have much time. So here's my attempt.

It's been a busy year, with lots of ups and downs, just as I'm sure it's been for all of you. Unfortunately, I have had to put Kathy's Komforts on the back burner for a while. But once the New Year is here I hope to be back on track. Between now and then I am working on finishing gifts for my family and small throws/blankets for children at a local domestic violence/abuse shelter for Christmas. I don't know how many I can get done in approximately 5 weeks, but I'm hoping for at least 10.

I also had tunnel vision for a while, thinking this was only for baby items. But after stepping back for a bit, I'm back to the wide angle vision. Kathy's Komforts is basically things I enjoy making and hope it brings some sort of comfort, however small, to anyone. The idea was started about 5 years ago. My daughter had to move back in with me due to an illness. She wanted to make a throw as a gift and asked me how to do it. I had no clue, so together we figured it out. Her first project started as a throw, grew to a king size and ended up a throw again. She has always been an arts and crafts person, but not so me. But I was bitten by the bug. I am not a quilter, I make blankets. Are all of our products perfect? Probably not. Remember, they are all made by us, by hand, and we are only human. But know they are as perfect as we can make them, with the human element thrown in. I make things that are fun for me, that make me smile, and hopefully somebody out there will also like them. Due to the rising costs of basically everything, I am cutting way back on my purchases. I am looking for the specials and deals to try and keep the costs down as much as possible. So you will be seeing a larger variety. Eventually, we also hope to have gifts for the men, but for now, it's geared towards women and babies.
